The “BOOK 1” model of Devin Booker’s first signature sneaker with Nike is scheduled to be released the following year.
On Twitter, the first photographs of the sneakers quickly went viral, and the response from fans was merciless. Many people thought it looked like Air Force 1s and disliked the design because of this.
An unreleased and exclusive first glimpse at Booker’s signature shoe was provided by Sneaker News. Note that these are only examples, and the design may end up being different from what you see here. The “BOOK 1” basketball shoe was created with a throwback aesthetic to the classic Nike basketball style of the 1980s.
The year 1996, Booker’s birth year, is printed on the heel pull tab. Additional elements regarding the shoe include the “BOOK 1” emblem that is located on the tongue. Additionally, there are three possible hues that are going to be released the next year. These colorways are going to be called Black, Hemp, and Metallic Red Bronze.
Fans were quick to criticize the first pair of shoes to have Devin Booker’s signature on social media, and many accused Nike of being complacent. Some people even speculated that the “BOOK 1” did not resemble basketball sneakers based on its appearance. One supporter went so far as to insult Booker by bringing up Luka Doncic, who plays for the Dallas Mavericks.
