Sunday night’s Euro 2024 qualifying match between Spain and Norway was another difficult one for Barcelona’s Ansu Fati.
The forward, whose inclusion in the starting lineup came as a surprise, struggled to make an impact in a losing effort in Oslo.
Even more depressing are the numbers for Ansu. The Barça loanee lost the ball seven times and did not attempt any shots, complete any vital passes, dribble the ball, or retrieve it.
Ansu and Robin Le Normand were replaced by Mikel Oyarzabal and David Garcia by halftime as Spain’s manager Luis de la Fuente was uncompromising.
Within a few minutes of the resumption of play in Oslo, Spain scored, and Ansu was left to watch.
Gavi scored from within the penalty area to put Spain ahead 1-0 after Norway failed to clear a Ferran Torres attempt.
After the international break, Ansu plans to head back to Brighton and give it another go there.
The rookie has made seven total appearances for the Seahawks, scoring once, however he has yet to start a game in the Premier League.
