FUTURE TREASURE: Liverpool star Mac Allister, not Messi, was credited by Argentine media as being the game-changer in their win over Paraguay

Argentina defeated Paraguay, 1-0, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance from Alexis Mac Allister.

According to Alexis Mac Allister, Lionel Scaloni plans to use the Liverpool star in a deeper midfield role, following in the footsteps of Jurgen Klopp.

Argentina won thanks to a goal from Nicolas Otamendi in the third minute, but they could have won by a larger margin if Mac Alliister hadn’t been so instrumental. The Liverpool midfielder came close to recording an assist during his impressive performance.

The Buenos Aires press has been raving about his performance. Ole, a sports publication, published several stories praising Mac Allister.

“Mac Allister is the thermometer, a central midfielder of the future who, thankfully, is present: he hardly misses passes despite taking risks, he plays on his toes at enormous speed, he makes timely pauses, and he also gets muddy,” said Martin Eula.

Mac Allister had 95% pass completion, 101 touches, 100% long-ball accuracy (4/4), 7 ground duels won, 8 ball recoveries, and 3 disarms in the capital of Argentina.

The Liverpool midfielder has been struggling in the deeper role recently, as evidenced by his dispossessed pass that set up Simon Adingra for Brighton’s first goal.

Alexis, playing in the middle of the field for the first time, scored against Paraguay. Another commenter called him “crucial” to the National Team’s success.

Alexis Mac Allister, author of a wonderful game and member of Actitud Libra, was the night’s standout figure at the Monumental, where Lionel Messi came off the bench and Nico Otamendi scored.

Liverpool midfielder Colo, who is having a career year, switched positions on the field after the World Cup so that he could play as a more conventional central midfielder.

“He put together an exquisite pile-up with a step entering the area,” the announcer said, “which aroused admiration in the stands and was reviewed by the VAR to see if there was a penalty.”

The aforementioned is in reference to Mac Allister’s incredible individual effort, during which he charged forward and skillfully dribbled past four Paraguayan defenders before going down in the box.

The summer signing from Liverpool showed a flash of brilliance that had been missing from his early Anfield career. He is adjusting to his new role, as pointed out by Mac Allister.

After the victory, he said, “I played more or less as I do at the club, it is a new position but I feel very comfortable.”

“(Lionel) Scaloni asks me to manage the team’s equilibrium, the relays, and my own well-being when I leave.”

Mac Allister has been criticized for his failure to adjust to the rigors of playing as a number 6 despite his regular role on Liverpool’s roster.

Mac Allister has been stuck in holding midfield because Jurgen Klopp still hasn’t put his entire faith in Wataru Endo, a former Stuttgart player.
