Andrew Robertson Faces Shoulder Injury Setback While Representing Scotland

Star left back Andy Robertson was pulled off the pitch in Scotland’s encounter against Spain today with what appeared to be a major shoulder injury, so Liverpool fans won’t be feeling any better about seeing their top players travel out every month on international duty.

The 29-year-old player left the field with his arm in a makeshift sling just before the end of the first half of a scoreless match, clearly in pain. A prognosis will take some time to arrive, but recovery time for a broken or dislocated shoulder is typically 12-16 weeks.

Even if it turns out to be a mild strain, that’s still not great news and would likely have a recovery timeframe that runs into months rather than weeks, which would be devastating for Liverpool and the player.

This seems to knock Robertson out for Liverpool’s forthcoming games against Everton, Toulouse, Nottingham, and Bournemouth, thus the team’s backup, Kostas Tsimikas, will need to perform admirably unless a miracle occurs.
