Mo Salah’s Heartfelt Connection: Sharing Life Experiences with Refugees through LFC Foundation

During a recent Global Works session organized by LFC Foundation, Mohamed Salah gave advice to a group of refugees on how to achieve their own dreams.

The Liverpool player encouraged the group of twenty by saying that they could achieve their goals if they set their sights high and worked diligently.

Salah shocked the group by showing up to their session, and then he engaged in a thought-provoking Q&A during which he talked about the difficulties of being a professional athlete and the significance of balancing work and personal life.

After the Q&A, the Egypt international watched as the group played some small-sided football games, and he also spoke with two young refugees one-on-one about their experience and the value of perseverance and faith.

“If you have a good vision and believe inside you that there is a bright light there, you can achieve great things,” Salah stated at the occasion. “I think if you put in the effort and have a clear goal in mind, you can make anything happen. It’s everyone.

If you’re willing to put in the time and effort and make the necessary sacrifices, you can make your dreams come true.

CEO of the LFC Foundation Matt Parish stated, “It was great for us to have Mo come down to the session and share his insights and ideas with the group, it was apparent to see the impact the visit had on our participants.

To quote one observer: “As a hero to so many across the world, Mo was able to inspire these young men, and the smiles on their faces throughout showed just how much this visit meant to them.”

Every week, LFC Foundation and its major partners provide football sessions for refugees in the Liverpool City Region, giving them a chance to meet new people and become a part of the local community.

More than 900 refugees and asylum seekers have participated in LFC Foundation’s Refugee Football programme since it began.

As seen in the above video, 38 refugees have participated in the Global Works employment program since March 2023.

The goal of this 10-week program is to improve participants’ physical and emotional health through the medium of athletics.
