Through the LFC Foundation, Mo Salah talks to newcomers about his life

Mohamed Salah recently told a group of refugees how he reached his goals in life during a Global Works session put on by the LFC Foundation.

The Liverpool star told the 20 people in the room that their dreams could come true if they worked hard and had a plan.

Salah shocked the group by showing up to their meeting early. He then took part in an inspiring Q&A where he talked about the difficulties players face on the field and how important it is for them to have a life outside of football.

After the question and answer session, the Egypt international watched as the group played small-sided football games. He also talked to two young refugees one-on-one about their journey and stressed the importance of working hard and having faith.

Salah said at the event, “You can do great things if you have a clear vision and believe that inside you there is a bright light.” “I think all your dreams will come true if you work hard and have a clear goal.” Each and every one.

“To make your dream come true, you just have to work really hard, be willing to give up things you want, and do everything you can.”

Matt Parish, CEO of LFC Foundation, said, “It was amazing to have Mo come to the session and share his experiences and advice with the group. It was clear that the visit had an effect on our participants.”

“Mo was an inspiration to these young men because he is a hero to so many people around the world. The smiles on their faces for the whole visit showed how much it meant to them.”

The LFC Foundation and its key partners work closely with refugees all over the Liverpool City Region. They help them become part of the community and make new friends by giving them weekly football lessons.

The LFC Foundation has worked with more than 900 refugees and asylum seekers since the start of the Refugee Football program.

The above movie shows a session that was part of the Global Works program to help people get jobs. This program has been given to 38 refugees since March 2023.

This 10-week program teaches important skills for getting a job while also using sports to improve physical and mental health.
