Lamine Yamal was injured while playing for Barcelona against Granada, but he nevertheless met up with the Spanish national squad, as described by coach Luis de la Fuente.
Lamine’s absence from the game was confirmed by Barcelona after the match, and he was later photographed hobbling on his way to join the Spain squad.
Which is why, when asked about it at his news conference, De la Fuente offered the following explanation.
He explained that he had come because “protocols require players to be checked.”
“But what I wanted to do most of all was to chat to him and hang out with his teammates for a little while.
As I told him, “He is a young boy, and I wanted to convey confidence and peace of mind to him and all of our support.”
Lamine Yamal is back in Barcelona, where he can relax before the start of La Liga play. The injury to the young player is not considered to be significant, and he may be ready for Barca’s next game.
