NBA star Damian Lillard has made another major life change alongside his blockbuster trade.

Court documents showed that Lillard filed for divorce from his wife Kay’La earlier this week.

The seven-time All-Star and his wife are long-time partners and started dating while they were both enrolled at Weber State.

They have been together ever since then and were married in 2021. The couple had three children together.

According to Willamette Week, the divorce filing presented “irreconcilable differences” that “caused the irremediable breakdown of their marriage.”

The filing also hinted that Kay’La moved to the couple’s $2.7million West Linn home while Dame stayed put at their $7.7million West Linn mansion.

Filings also show that last month Lillard moved to a new home in Tualatin.

Fans of the former Portland Trailblazer and now Milwaukee Buck had speculated the marriage was on the rocks after Kay’La was missing from Dame’s social media.

Lillard did give his wife a Mother’s Day shoutout earlier in the year though.

“Takes a special person to wear all the hats that a mother does. I love you and I’m thankful to share what I’m most proud of with you!” he wrote on Instagram.

On September 28, Lillard was dealt by the Trailblazers to the Bucks.

Jrue Holiday, DeAndre Ayton, Toumani Camara, the Bucks’ unprotected first-round draft pick in 2029, and their exchange rights in 2028 and 2030 were all part of the historic trade.

The Bucks are now the club in the East to beat and may even be the favorite to win the NBA championship this year thanks to the agreement.
