In the first quarter of their preseason opener on Sunday, the Suns appeared to have one of the NBA’s best-ever offenses.
In the first quarter of their 130-126 overtime victory over the Detroit Pistons in their preseason opener on Sunday afternoon at Little Caesars Arena, the Phoenix Suns appeared to have the greatest offensive unit in the NBA.
The Suns outscored the Pistons, who are led by former Suns coach Monty Williams, 46 points thanks to the play of their big three, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal. With a scorching 17 of 20 field goal shooting performance, Phoenix led all scorers with 10 points off 3-of-3 shooting from Durant. Beal scored seven points on two of three shots, while Booker scored nine points on four of six shots.
Following the contest, Suns coach Frank Vogel observed, “Just a peak of what we can be offensively.” “Undoubtedly, the firepower we possess with those men who all seem to click and feel at ease in our system appears fantastic on paper. Even though our offensive was great, I was more pleased by our defensive team’s attention to detail. Additionally, we were able to establish a strong attacking rhythm since we were guarding. Most of the time, neither the ball nor the fouls were being committed by us. And we’ll be difficult to beat once we find an offensive rhythm similar to what we did in the first quarter.
Durant and Booker both scored twelve points in the Suns’ opening game of the preseason. Booker contributed two assists, and Durant grabbed three rebounds. On 3-of-5 shooting (4-of-4 from the free-throw line), Beal, making his Suns debut, finished with 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
At the free-throw line, Beal made the opening basket of the game for the Suns before making a jumper. The Suns took a 9-2 lead after Booker made his own pull-up and Durant drained a 3-pointer.
They had a fantastic appearance the entire time. A few of their best buckets were shown here.
