Among Luis Dáz’s all-time favorite Liverpool players is a fascinating star who he ranked higher than Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané.
Talented Colombian winger Luis Daz, who signed with Liverpool in January 2022, has named his five-a-side team’s greatest players. Dáz made an unexpected choice for his dream team, passing on Mohamed Salah in favor of a complete outsider.
Salah, Thiago Alcântara, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mané are just a few of the fantastic players that Daz has shared the pitch with during his brief stint at Anfield. Daz, who never played with any of the Liverpool legends he chose, picked three former teammates and two current players.
Given his importance to Jürgen Klopp’s squad, Alisson Becker was a no-brainer as the starting goalkeeper. Daz also opted to start the dependable defender, Virgil van Dijk. Steven Gerrard, a hero to many Reds fans and a Liverpool icon, was a logical pick as well.
But when it came to the offensive choices, things got exciting. Daz opted for Xherdan Shaqiri over Salah to round up his attacking lineup. Despite Shaqiri’s reputation for creating magic on the field, supporters were surprised to see him start ahead of Mané and Salah.
Dáz finished off his Liverpool all-star team with Kenny Dalglish. Dalglish’s playing days at Anfield were before Daz was even born, but the FC Porto legend nonetheless acknowledged Dalglish’s significance and influence.
The pick of Daz is sure to be hotly contested by Liverpool supporters and soccer nuts alike. Salah has been an integral part of the Reds’ offense and has often produced stellar results, so his omission comes as a shock. However, the breadth of quality at Liverpool is on full display in the surprising selection of individuals like Shaqiri for such prizes.
