Angel Alarcon, a promising young player for Barcelona, has reportedly sustained yet another injury just weeks after returning from an extended absence.
The young assailant has a muscle injury in his left leg that will keep him out of action for four to five weeks, the reporter notes.
Injury misfortune
The La Masia forward’s (age: 19) early career has been plagued by injuries.
After suffering an ACL injury in his first game with Barça Atletic, Alarcon sat out the whole 2021/22 campaign.
After overcoming his hardship, the adolescent made his senior squad debut for Barcelona in January of this year and played in five games under the tutelage of Xavi.
However, Alarcon had a fresh muscle ailment during the close of the previous season, keeping him out of action until just last month.
The young player returned to training at the end of September and played his first game for Barça Atlético against Celta Fortuna last weekend.
The 19-year-old started and scored a goal for Barça Juvenil A this week against FC Porto in the UEFA Youth League.
Unfortunately, he has sustained yet another muscle injury unrelated to the one that has kept him out of action for the past month.
A spot on the first team was imminent.
The Barcelona organization holds Alarcon in high regard. Manager Xavi Hernandez has been monitoring his progress since his injury and has already given him a taste of first-team football.
The article claims that everyone at Barça was pleased with the 19-year-old’s performance after his return and that he was extremely close to being called up to the first squad.
With Robert Lewandowski out with an injury, Alarcon may have gotten some playing time with the first team. The current injury, though, will force the child to put his aspirations on hold.
