Tuesday night saw Manchester United lose again in the Champions League, leaving Erik ten Hag’s team at the bottom of Group A.
Tuesday night’s 3-2 home loss to Galatasaray in the Champions League marked Manchester United’s second straight loss.
At Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag’s team led twice, with two outstanding goals from Rasmus Hojlund each side of halftime. However, Wilfried Zaha and Kerem Aktürkoğlu equalized due to appalling defence.
After a dreadful pass from Andre Onana, Casemiro gave away a penalty, dropping the ball, and Mauro Icardi missed the mark. United was reduced to 10 men. Shortly after, the Galatasaray striker calmed down to score the game-winning goal by skillfully dinking the ball past the Reds goalkeeper.
These are your missed moments from another challenging evening for United.
Strange pre-game rituals
All day long, the Galatasaray supporters were audible throughout Manchester’s downtown, and they carried their renowned energy to Old Trafford’s away corner. They had crowded their section early doors and throughout the warm-ups they were chanting and jumping all over the place.\
With one player at a time rushing towards the away end and making a motion resembling flogging a horse, Okan Buruk’s players were determined to keep the noise level high. What it accomplished was energise the enthusiastic audience, who proceeded to chant even more intensely.
Fernandes frustrated
With the first goal, Marcus Rashford demonstrated his devastating ability by timing his run precisely and placing a precise cross over Hojlund’s head. Individually, it was a terrific beginning, but regrettably, the game did not grow into something truly amazing.
In the second half, the 25-year-old again beat the high line and raced through on goal, perfectly summarising his lack of confidence. It would have assured a goal last season, but Rashford wavered and failed to square an easy pass to Fernandes, who would have had an open goal.
From that point on, it was truly difficult, and the breaking point came when a careless pass from Christian Eriksen flew over his head. With Rashford’s head down, it was up to Antony, who was warming up, to try and inspire his teammate for one last push. In a few minutes, he was replaced.
Enthusiastic analysts
Not only were Galatasaray supporters raising the tempo at Old Trafford, but their analytical team next to the gantry was also drawn into the action. A tripod was positioned on one person’s desk to record a strategic view of the match, while everyone else was taking in the event like laptop-wielding fans.
The press box’s small group of experts showed no emotion control when Zaha equalized through bullying of Diogo Dalot and a scuffed effort looped over Onana. And there was complete chaos as Icardi scored the winning goal.

Laid back Buruk
After 12 minutes, Galatasaray was granted a penalty, giving them a chance to win the game. Following Onana’s careless ball to Mertens, Casemiro was sent off for a reckless lunge and granted a penalty kick.
The referee sounded his whistle, and everyone at Old Trafford held their breath—aside from Galatasaray manager Buruk, who was laughing and joking with the fourth official about something. The Turkish manager appeared to be enjoying the drama and was really relaxed throughout the evening.
