On Wednesday, Nike released two colorways of the “LeBron 11,” Heat forward LeBron James’ newest trademark sneaker.

Nike calls James’ new shoes “the lightest and lowest” sneaker ever made for the four-time MVP because of its lightweight construction (14.5 ounces to be exact).

Nike’s website now features images of two different colors of the LeBron 11 with accompanying descriptions of their inspirations: the “King’s Pride” (shown above) and the “Terracotta Warrior” (seen below).

Shade called “KING’S PRIDE”

James has the bravery, tenacity, and brave heart of a lion on the field. The dark loden top color and floral design on the collar lining of the King’s Pride colorway are inspired by the lion.

While in Xi’An, China, in 2011, James was blown away by the Terracotta Warrior Exhibition. The Terracotta Warrior colorway was inspired by both the exhibit and James’s playing style, which embodies the spirit of a warrior via grit, confidence, hard work, and persistence.

The shoe’s design is based on the Terracotta Warriors as we know them now, with a combination of muted stone tones and bright purple, teal, and scarlet tones to depict their original palette. The geometric pattern on the top evokes the interlocking plates and chains of the warriors’ armor. The motif on the inside of the shoe’s shank comes from the same artistic tradition as the Terracotta Warriors, which dates back to the Bronze Age.

The following specifications for the Nike LeBron 11 have also been made public.

The upper is constructed differently, utilizing innovative Nike Hyperposite technology for lightweight lock-down, enhancing protection, containment, and responsiveness. Nike Hyperfuse structure and responsive Flywire technology are used in the upper to enhance James’s natural footwork.

For the first time ever in a LeBron trademark shoe, the LeBron 11 combines a full-length Lunarlon and Nike Zoom unit to provide James with superior cushioning and court feel. Key performance enhancements and improvements seen in the LeBron 11 include:

To offer protection, containment, and responsiveness, the new Nike Hyperposite technology employs lightweight materials engineered to move with the foot.

Nike’s Hyperfuse structure and Dynamic Flywire technology ensure a snug yet flexible fit and a secure hold, allowing for more fluid movement on the court.

Inserts from both the Lunarlon and Nike Zoom families: For a supple, springy feel.

On October 12th, the King’s Pride colorway will be available for purchase. Release date for the Terracotta Warrior colorway in the Americas is November 27.

Last year, news that James’ LeBron X signature model would cost more than $300 caused a stir. The LeBron X, on the other hand, cost $270. Multiple iterations of the LeBron X, including a superhero hue, an Easter colorway, and an MVP colorway, have since been made available to the public. Forbes said in May that James had the most shoe sales in the United States of any NBA player.
