Thomas Partey has returned to Arsenal training ahead of Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League Group B clash against RC Lens.
.
The midfielder’s inclusion in the Arsenal team that flies to France later today is still up in the air, but the news that he could be ready for selection shortly will be a significant boost for Mikel Arteta, especially with Sunday’s crucial Premier League matchup against Manchester City in mind.
Trossard, another important player who was unable to appear in the match between Arsenal and Bournemouth, was also found in training.
.
In addition, there is good news with regard to Bukayo Saka as he was also spotted in Monday morning’s session at London Colney. There had been concerns over the winger’s fitness after he sustained a knock during the 4-0 win over Bournemouth at the weekend which caused him to be substituted in the second half.
.
However, the fact he was present – along with striker Gabriel Jesus who required treatment towards the end of the aforementioned fixture – is a clear indication he is fine and in contention to start against Lens in an attempt to build on his goal and assist on matchday one.
Having said that, there was no sign of Gabriel Martinelli – and as expected Jurrien Timber – in the session. The Brazil international has missed the last four games across all competitions with a hamstring problem sustained in the 1-0 win over Everton and it would appear he will be sidelined for another.
