By practicing with the rest of Barcelona’s first squad on Monday, Pedri took a significant step toward making his return from injury.
While his teammates were getting ready for Wednesday’s Champions League match against Porto, the midfielder was back on the pitch, working with the ball at the Ciutat Esportiva.
In anticipation of his first game back for Barcelona since August, Pedri appeared to be in good spirits during the workout.
It’s clear that he’s feeling upbeat right now. He posted a video of himself in action along with the caption, “Coming soon” on Instagram.
When exactly Pedri will return is unclear. In recent days, Xavi has insisted that he is close at hand but that no chances would be made until he knows how he feels.
Given his previous injury history, Barcelona will be extremely cautious with Pedri in order to prevent the Spain international from suffering a setback.
After the international break, the midfielder is likely to be fit to return for Barca’s match against Athletic Club on October 22.
