There is nothing new about individual and team success for FC Barcelona players in terms of honours. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that several players on the Catalan giants are deserving of discussion after a rather successful month.
WhoScored has announced its La Liga EA Sports Team of the Month for September, like they do every month, and FC Barcelona has the most players represented of any team.
Golden Boy winner Gavi, Portuguese fullback Joao Cancelo, and French defender Jules Kounde are the players in question.
Gavi (7.37)
Gavi, who has a 7.37 rating, is one of four players in the team’s midfield. The 19-year-old midfielder has been an integral part of Barcelona’s success this season, and his play has especially impressed supporters when Pedri and Frenkie De Jong have been sidelined with injuries.
The kid has been reliable all season long, but his games against Sevilla, Celta Vigo, and Royal Antwerp particularly stand out.
J. Kounde Jules (7.32)
Jules Kounde, one of two Barcelona defenders on this squad, has played a pivotal role in Xavi’s plans all year. The Frenchman has been pivotal to Barca’s developing approach since returning to his customary central defensive position.
The 24-year-old has quickly established himself as a key member of this Barca squad, scoring a goal against CA Osasuna and contributing significantly in nearly all of the team’s September matches.
Joo Cancelo (7.77)
Xavi has successfully integrated the Portuguese fullback into the Barcelona squad this month. Coming in on the final day of the summer transfer window, the 29-year-old has been one of, if not the greatest, Barcelona player all of September.
The Portuguese superstar has scored twice and set up another, and he has been instrumental in many of Barca’s creative moments while also playing a key defensive role. Barcelona will likely be excited with this loan agreement and hope they can make it permanent.
