EMOTIONAL MOMENT: Odegaard tells Jesus to give penalty for Havertz and the Arsenal star’s reaction made fan with ‘tears in my eye’

ARSENAL fans have hailed the “emotional” moment that saw Kai Havertz record his first goal for the club.

Havertz finally broke his duck in his seventh Premier League appearance for the club when he converted from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute.

Captain Martin Odegaard appeared to discuss letting Havertz take the penalty with Gabriel Jesus

And his team-mates were clearly buzzing with the midfielder for opening his account

The goal came with Arsenal 2-0 up in the game.

Vice-captain Martin Odegaard had already converted from the spot in the first-half and it looked as though it would be him or Gabriel Jesus to take the second penalty.

Odegaard and Jesus were speaking as cameras were rolling, and it appeared like the Gunners captain was suggesting that Havertz take the pen.

Then, Havertz deservedly scored, sending Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto the wrong way.

When Havertz scored his first goal while wearing a Gunners jersey, practically the entire squad raced up to join in on the celebrations, making it obvious how much it meant to him and his teammates.

In the replies to the video one fan said: “Tears in my eyes.”

Another wrote: “I’m just so glad, for him, the team and especially the captain, that he scored. Imagine the meltdown if he hadn’t.”

“I’m thankful to our supporters as they sang his name. Kai deserves that”.
