The’simple’ explanation behind Seth Curry and Luka continued chemistry

In rejoining the Mavericks, Seth Curry will once again play with Luka Doncic. They shouldn’t have any hiccups.

Mavs: The 'simple' reason Seth Curry still has chemistry with Luka Doncic

With the additions of Grant Williams, Derick Lively II, and Olivier-Maxence Prosper, the Dallas Mavericks strengthened their defense this offseason. However, they also strengthened their offense by bringing back Seth Curry on a two-year deal to play with Kyrie Irving (who they re-signed).

The upcoming season will be Curry’s third with the Mavs, following the 2016–17 and 2020–21 campaigns. Doncic, Dwight Powell, Maxi Kleber, and Tim Hardaway Jr. are the only members of that second group still in existence. Dallas made the playoffs for the first time since 2016 with Curry as their fourth leading scorer. After another season without postseason play, he’s returned to provide the team with outside shooting.

Even after some time apart, Doncic and Curry can be a formidable force when paired together. Curry broke it down into easy English for us.

“I mean, I can make shots and Luka can still pass,” Curry remarked with a grin. “It’s not rocket science. It’s been great to be back in the gym with the boys over the past few days. Things are a little different around here with the new management, coaching staff, general manager, and practice facilities. However, I am still at ease.

During their time together with the Mavericks, Doncic dished out 43 assists to Stephen Curry. As a result, Curry can rely on Doncic and Irving (with whom he briefly shared the court with the Nets) to draw defenders and dish the ball over to him. It’s possible that Curry will get the opening tip. A key position on the bench is warranted if he doesn’t start. Jason Kidd, Dallas’ head coach, discussed how he will contribute offensively.

I love that Seth has had the opportunity to play with Ky and Luka. “We would love to have that 45.2 percent clip from deep that he had with Luka,” Kid said of Curry and his former teammate. Seth’s ability to direct the attack is underappreciated, in my opinion. We can deploy him in a variety of roles, from setting up offensive sets to manning the three-point line.Hopefully, he’ll get some playing time for us.
