Kevin Durant Claps Back at Fans’ ‘Trash’ Takes in Twitter Spaces Chat

Kevin Durant seemed to only care about chiming in on a Kevin Durant-centric Twitter Spaces conversation.

On Friday, the former MVP and current Phoenix Suns player hopped into a discussion thread titled “Kevin Durant is not top 5” and took the time to respond to the people there.

After being traded to the Suns from the Nets just before the NBA trade deadline last season, Durant has never been afraid to get in on the Twitter debate.

Speaking to the gathering, he criticized the fans’ understanding of the game and the futility of ranking players.

Durant was overheard saying, “I just think how y’all even look at the game is whack as ***k.” When discussing players, you take the team’s performance into account. I simply think it’s ridiculous how you guys watch and play the game.

It’s possible that some things are as easy as they seem. Just how good are you? Brother, it’s been OK for a long time; plenty of people have seen it. Why are you getting worked up about these lists if they don’t signify anything?

At least one of the participants in the discussion expressed agreement with Durant.

As the only player to seriously challenge LeBron James’ level of excellence throughout their primes, Durant’s place in the NBA’s pantheon has always been up for argument.

The former MVP was instrumental in the Warriors’ two championship runs and was named the series’ most valuable player both times.

Many, though, will argue that Durant’s two championships were won as part of a superteam and that he just joined an already champion.

In Oklahoma City, Brooklyn, and Phoenix, he did not even make the playoffs, let alone the Finals.

Due to many injuries and inability to play together, Durant’s stint with the Nets and his friend Kyrie Irving and eventually James Harden was a nightmare.

In 2021, Brooklyn made it all the way to the Eastern Conference semi-finals in the playoffs.

Phoenix’s acquisitions of Devin Booker and Bradley Beal in a massive trade on Sunday give the Suns a far better chance of contending this season and giving Durant another shot at the Larry O’Brien trophy.

If Durant wins another championship, people may start to reevaluate his brilliance.
