NBA Blockbuster Transfer: Damian Lillard Joins Forces with Giannis Antetokounmpo

It came as a shock to everyone, including the other NBA teams, when the Blazers dealt Damian Lillard to the Bucks so he could play alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In the end, All-NBA defender Damian Lillard chose to sign with a team that wasn’t the Miami Heat or the 2019 NBA champion Toronto Raptors.

Earlier today (September 28), it was reported by respected journalist Shams Charania of The Athletic that the Portland Trail Blazers had dealt point guard Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of a three-team trade. Phoenix Suns is our third partner.

Here’s the breakdown:

Damian Lillard has been traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Milwaukee sent the Trail Blazers Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, and Toumani Camara, as well as a first-round pick in 2029 and an exchange right.

Jusuf Nurkic, Nassir Little, Keon Johnson, and Grayson Allen were all shipped to the Phoenix Suns.

Both NBA fans and professionals were taken aback by this blockbuster trade.

Damian Lillard, an All-Star and an All-NBA defender, has long had his sights set on joining the Miami Heat. The Toronto Raptors have become a serious contender in the last two days.

Lillard, however, ended up on the 2021 NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks, surprising everyone. He replaced Jrue Holiday, another All-Star defender, on the team of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
