The only two injured Reds right now are Thiago Alcântara and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Klopp will likely shake things up against the Foxes.
Liverpool has gotten off to a fantastic start in each of the tournaments it has participated in so far this season. Only Manchester City has more points at this juncture in the Premier League. The Reds are currently in first place in the Europa League group stage.
Liverpool will host Leicester City in the Carabao Cup’s first round, which begins shortly. Although Leicester has gotten off to a good start in the Championship (having beaten Tranmere Rovers to reach this round), Liverpool is the more deserving team and should advance to the next round.
Jürgen Klopp is expected to make several substitutions, similar to what he did against LASK. Even though Ibrahima Konaté did not play against West Ham, he is now fully recovered and should return to the lineup. Several others may also be given another shot.
Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo should get playing time as well, despite not starting the previous two games, while Harvey Elliott and Wataru End could also see some action.
Here, Liverpool.com gives you the most recent injury reports after the victory over West Ham and before the Anfield match against Leicester. On Tuesday, during his scheduled news conference, Klopp (or maybe Pep Lijnders) will provide an update.
Thiago Alcântara
Since the hip injury that ended last season forced him to miss the last four games, Thiago has not been seen. With a few of games left in the previous season, it was decided to attempt to fix the issue in the hopes that he would be ready for preseason, but his rehabilitation has taken longer than expected.
The Spaniard has not been seen in full training since Klopp stated he was back to jogging around 10 days ago. It’s really bad, since a match against Leicester at home would’ve been a good way to get him back into the swing of things.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Liverpool did not conduct their customary news conference before their West Ham match because of their Thursday night Europa League encounter. The Reds manager did not provide an injury report.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s status will hopefully be addressed at Tuesday’s news conference in advance of the match against Leicester City; but, even if the fullback is healthy again, he is not likely to play in the Carabao Cup.
Even though Joe Gomez played well in that position against West Ham on Sunday, it would be a huge boost for Liverpool if he could recover in time for the weekend match against Spurs.
