‘HERO IS BACK’: Man Utd promising player is spotted in training session ahead clash vs Crystal Palace after injuried time

Mason Mount is expected to return to the first-team for two games against Crystal Palace this week, giving Erik ten Hag a rare injury-related win.

Manchester United’s summer transfer Mason Mount practiced with the club ahead of Tuesday’s encounter against Crystal Palace and is close to returning to the first squad.

The England international joined Old Trafford from Chelsea in July for £55 million, but injuries have kept him out for most of his career. Mount has not played for Erik ten Hag since the second league match of the year, a 2-0 loss at Tottenham.

Mount, 24, was seen working out as United prepared for two games against the Eagles in two days, suggesting his return. Roy Hodgson’s team will play at Old Trafford again on Saturday for the league fixture after the Carabao Cup game.

Mount smiled as he was tested by his United teammates. Ten Hag has had to deal with several Red Devils injuries, including the former Blues star.

Harry Maguire, another England international, has missed two games with an injury. When it comes to injuries, United’s defense has been the most seriously damaged, with all four of Ten Hag’s starting back four missing time this season.

Raphael Varane has recovered from the injury that kept him out of Arsenal and Brighton games, while Lisandro Martinez is the latest to find an issue. The Frenchman entered Saturday’s Turf Moor contest in the final minutes.

Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are out. Even Ten Hag’s emergency backup Sergio Reguilon was sick, but he recovered to play against Burnley and will be healthy for Crystal Palace.

Even though United will try to defend the League Cup on Tuesday, Ten Hag may make adjustments. Because the Red Devils have more pressing issues.

Young goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, who joined from Fenerbahce this summer to replace Dean Henderson, may make his debut. First-choice shot-stopper Andre Onana hasn’t been benched this season.

The game allows Casemiro, the starting midfielder, to rest. After impressing on his second Premier League debut on Saturday, Hannibal Mejbri may play.

Mount may not be fit to play both games against the South Londoners, but he’ll be anxious to return to the field in front of Old Trafford fans and show why United wanted to buy him.
