Kostas Tsimikas Extends His Loyalty to Liverpool FC with a Fresh Long-Term Contract

Liverpool FC has locked up Kostas Tsimikas to a new long-term deal.

Monday saw the left defender, who arrived at the AXA Training Centre from Olympiacos in August of 2020, sign new terms that would keep him with the club until the summer of 2021.

Tsimikas said, “I feel very glad to be here to extend my contract.” In the end, I believe that all my efforts and the things I gave up were worthwhile.

As for me, this boosts my spirits and keeps me going strong. From the very beginning, I knew that I wanted to be a member of this team because, as I’ve mentioned in many interviews, “this team has many, many things to achieve all together.”

Tsimikas has been a vital part of Liverpool’s success since joining the team, with 12 assists in 63 games.

In 2022, the Greece international featured in five of the Reds’ six matches in the competition, and he scored the vital penalty that sealed the win with a penalty kick against Chelsea in the Emirates FA Cup final.

The “Greek Scouser,” as Tsimikas is lovingly nicknamed by fans, contributed to Jürgen Klopp’s club winning the Carabao Cup in 2021-22 and has stated his goals for the remainder of his contract.

‘More success, more effort, and more awards,’ the 27-year-old said. Being a part of this, and winning trophies, and giving my best in every scenario, is what matters most to me.

I believe we have a great shot of adding to our trophy case with this group, and we intend to do so. For the next games, I believe that everyone is giving it their all, and that everyone is set up for future success.
