Kostas Tsimikas renewed his contract with Liverpool FC for an extended period of time.
On Monday, the left back signed new terms with the AXA Training Centre, extending his 2020 contract that he originally signed with Olympiacos.
When asked about his contract extension, Tsimikas told Liverpoolfc.com, “I feel very glad to be here.” All the hard work and time I put in, along with the sacrifices I made, seem to have paid off.
Yet this sustains my drive for the remaining work. I’ve always wanted to be a member of this squad because, as I’ve mentioned in several interviews, “we have so much potential as a group.”
Tsimikas has been at Liverpool since 2015, and he has already contributed 12 assists in 63 games.
The Greece international participated in five of the Reds’ six matches in the competition, and his penalty in the final against Chelsea in 2022 proved to be the game-winner.
Tsimikas, fondly called the “Greek Scouser” by fans, won the Carabao Cup with Jürgen Klopp’s club in 2021-22 and has stated his goals for the remainder of his contract.
“More success, more work, and more trophies,” the 27-year-old said. To be a part of this, to win trophies, to give my best no matter what, is the single most important thing in the world to me.
I believe this club has tremendous championship-winning potential, and we want to fully exploit it. In my opinion, everyone is fully invested in the next games and prepared to make significant future contributions to the team’s overall success.
