‘He’s not worth enough to be treated like that’: Man Utd fans straightly talk about Onana before clash vs Brunley

After manager Erik ten Hag lost confidence in David de Gea during the summer transfer window, Andre Onana took over as Manchester United’s starting goalkeeper.

It is said that the Manchester United players are upset about David de Gea’s departure as his successor Andre Onana struggles.

De Gea, 32, was let go by United in July after working there for 12 years. The Spaniard left Old Trafford after 545 games and eight trophies, including the Premier League title, but is now unattached after failing to sign with a new team over the summer.

Onana, who worked with Erik ten Hag at Ajax, succeeded De Gea as United’s starting goalkeeper. The 27-year-old Cameroonian international just moved to Old Trafford from Inter Milan for £47 million, but he hasn’t yet persuaded United supporters that he’s the genuine deal.

Onana apologized to the crowd after allowing Leroy Sane’s shot to go in under him during Wednesday night’s 4-3 loss for United at Bayern Munich. In his first six games at United, he has given up 14 goals, but he’s determined to “learn” from his poor performance.

The Sun reports that United players are enraged at the club’s treatment of De Gea. The seasoned goalkeeper, who received the Premier League Golden Glove award the previous season, was well-liked in the Old Trafford locker room.

De Gea was criticized at United, but he still accomplished a lot. Only Cristiano Ronaldo can match his record of four times being named United’s Player of the Year. That is more victories than players like Wayne Rooney and Eric Cantona combined (two).

In addition, De Gea was selected United’s Players’ Player of the Year four times, demonstrating the respect he enjoyed in the locker room. No other player has ever received that honor three or four times. After De Gea left, United captain Bruno Fernandes wrote to him on Instagram: “You know what I think about you and how much I will miss you bro.”

However, after the club signed Onana, it seems unlikely that De Gea will make a surprise return to Old Trafford. The goalkeeper took responsibility for his error against Bayern by speaking to the media, and he will be eager to perform well in the Premier League.

After his gaffe, Onana told TNT Sports, “This is the life of a goalkeeper. It’s challenging. We had a great start. I made a mistake, and we lost the game. We are in a bad situation, and because I let the team down, it is very difficult for me.

They didn’t create any chances, and I erred on their first shot at goal because we were really good with the ball. The squad lost as a result of the error because it was the crucial point. It was all my fault if we lost today.

“I must grow from it and persevere. I have much to demonstrate. My introduction to Manchester hasn’t gone as well as I’d hoped. One of my worst games was this one.
