Known as a forward for Bayer Munich and the brand’s ambassador, Sadio Mané will be featured in a new, purposefully undisclosed campaign for New Balance’s 2023 Grey Day celebrations.
The Now Balance brand is stuck with the color scheme it developed in the 1970s, which was intentionally flexible so that it could be used in advertising. Today, it exhibits a sophisticated but bold fusion approach that caters to a wide range of fashion and athletic tastes.
Mané is featured in the most recent BSTN campaign, which emphasizes a “no frills, no fuss” attitude, wearing the retro New Balance 550 from the limited edition “Moon Daza” pack. He ditched his flashy football uniform in favor of more subdued threads and appeared in the mask with a cigarette holder and a sweatsuit that matched the sneaker’s ray-blue details.
Although advertising on television is essential to the success of the New Balance brand, it is also common knowledge that the retailer has ties to the pastel color family and often employs pastel tones in catalogs and window displays. Photographs of Mané standing against a white background alternate between full color and monochrome as part of the campaign. These images are part of BSTN’s ongoing exploration into creative color theory.
