Alexis Mac Allister’s Unexpected Response to the Question of Liverpool’s Strongest Player

According to Alexis Mac Allister, two of Liverpool’s top players right now are Mohamed Salah and Kostas Tsimikas.

The Argentine midfielder joined Liverpool this summer from Brighton and Hove Albion, and he has started all five of the club’s Premier League games thus far.

Mac Allister responded, “I would say Mo [Salah] or [Kostas] Tsimikas,” when Goal asked him to select Liverpool’s strongest player. When pressed for further detail about Salah, he said, “Oh, absolutely. He spends all day lifting weights, so he’s really muscular.

Considering Salah’s sculpted body and hard ethic off the field, his top spot on the list shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. The Liverpool forward quipped that his wife probably thinks he spends more time with his workout equipment than she does during an interview with France Football last summer.

Two rooms in our home are devoted to various workout devices and bodybuilding, he remarked (quotes via Mirror Football). Cryotherapy is another option I have at home thanks to the hyperbaric chamber. My goal is to maintain or maybe increase my level of physical fitness.

My wife doesn’t like it when I comment that my home resembles a hospital, but it’s true that I often make that comparison. [She] claims I neglect her in favor of my electronics. Sushi is my go-to dish at London’s finest eateries. Pizza is a treat that I allow myself once a month. I really like hamburgers, but I don’t eat them too often since I always feel bloated afterwards.

The fact that Tsimikas is mentioned at all, much alone ahead of players like Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, is startling to say the least. The Greek international, at little over 5’10 and 77 kg, doesn’t have the most intimidating frame, but he packs quite a punch according to Mac Allister’s assessment.
