Liverpool Surges to the Premier League Summit with an Electric Second-Half Comeback: Liverpool 3-1 Wolves

Liverpool broke its midday losing streak thanks in large part to Mohamed Salah’s hat trick of assists.

Salah, who was heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in the transfer window, was instrumental in the second-half comeback after Wolves took the lead through Hwang Hee-Chan after seven minutes. Salah also assisted on goals by Cody Gakpo, stand-in captain Andy Robertson, and Harvey Elliott via a deflection to extend the team’s unbeaten league run all the way back to April.

Despite a bad start to the game, Jurgen Klopp must have been pleased with his team’s resolve because of the absences of Virgi van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold and since four of his squad members just returned to training on Friday after playing World Cup qualifiers in South America.

Earlier this season, they battled back to win with 10 men against Bournemouth and Newcastle. Saturday’s success at Molineux was a sharp contrast to last year, when they lost all six of their games that kicked off at 12.30 p.m.

Wolves got out to a fast start and scored after just seven minutes, surprising an unfamiliar Liverpool lineup.
