Predicted Man United XI vs Brighton: Amrabat is set to play first game but ten Hag must face ‘precarious result’ with the absence of ‘vital key’

Erik ten Hag will exhale with satisfaction that none of his Manchester United players seem to have sustained an injury over the break.

However, one player has been added to the list of absentees for the Premier League match at home against Brighton: Antony. The club has instructed Antony not to return to training until he clears his reputation in relation to charges of domestic abuse.

There is a dilemma on the right wing as a result of Jadon Sancho’s public argument with Ten Hag and reports that he would be sold as soon as possible.

Although many supporters have urged Ten Hag to start Facundo Pellistri on the left, we believe the manager will start Marcus Rashford on the right wing instead.

Although Garnacho has only started a few games there this season, his substitute outings have been explosive.

All of this is a part of learning, and the manager will probably give the young Argentine player another opportunity to play the full 90 minutes while positioning Rashford to be sacrificed rather than starting with the even less skilled Pellistri.

There will be cries to start Rasmus Hojlund up top, but Anthony Martial is more likely to be there for kickoff, with the Dane coming on in the second half. Although Martial’s form has been subpar, Ten Hag can argue that Hojlund needs to be introduced gradually and that Martial needs some time to rediscover his rhythm.

The boss now has a few intriguing options in midfield. Mason Mount is getting back in shape but most likely won’t be ready in time for this game, Sofyan Amrabat is available for the first time, Scott McTominay put on some strong performances for Scotland this week, and Christian Eriksen, who also did well for his nation, is sitting in the box.

The obvious pick is Eriksen because he is match-ready, but despite not having kicked a ball since last season, we have a sneaking hunch that Amrabat might be included right away.

When Antony was signed, Ten Hag did the same thing, and he might think that Amrabat is the kind of player who can get things going right away.

Of course, Bruno Fernandes will take the tenth position.

No adjustments are anticipated in defense. Since Raphael Varane is unlikely to be healthy, Lisandro Martinez should team up with Victor Lindelof. Both were substituted in the Arsenal game, but both have performed well when called up for international action.

Although loanee Sergio Reguilon is an option, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will continue to play right back, and Diogo Dalot will likely return to play left back.

Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw are still unavailable.
