Fabio Martins, a winger for Al Khaleej, predicts that Mohamed Salah, an Egyptian international, will soon be playing in the Saudi Pro League despite a late offer from Al Ittihad.
Jurgen Klopp was adamant about not letting Salah leave Liverpool, therefore the club rejected a deal of up to £150 million for the player.
After acquiring Karim Benzema, Fabinho, Jota, Luiz Felipe, and N’Golo Kante, Al Ittihad has been linked to making another offer for Mohamed Salah in the next year.
Martins is eager to test himself against Salah, 31, who is revered across the Arab world.
“If this transfer happens, it will be another big star arriving here to the country,” he said to Stats Perform at the Thinking Football Summit.
The opportunity to compete against Salah would be unforgettable. I assume they will attempt once more to get him to the next market in January and we’ll see how it goes.
I’d be overjoyed if we signed Salah because he’s a player I like watching and because, hair and all, he reminds me of myself. That’s why I root for Salah to visit Saudi Arabia.
Even with all the money in Saudi Arabia, seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi chose Inter Miami over Al Hilal.
Martins, however, has not given up hope that Lionel Messi will one day play in the Pro League with Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.
I really like Messi as a player. But I get it, Messi had an idea of where he wanted to go with his career and he chose Miami,” Martins remarked.
The league with major names like Cristiano and Messi, and now with Benzema and Neymar, would reach to a level never seen before if Messi landed here in Saudi.
Let’s wait and see if Salah shows up; he’s a major contributor, too. I anticipate that they will make an effort to include major participants in the next market; we will see what transpires.
Not only have Saudi teams tried to recruit European players, but they have also sought to bring in European coaches. Steven Gerrard, a former manager of Rangers and Aston Villa and a Liverpool great, is one among them. He has assisted Al Ettifaq bring in players like Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum, Moussa Dembele, and Demarai Gray.
Gerrard went to Al Ettifaq and brought fantastic players like Henderson and Gray and Moussa Dembele, Martins continued.
Yannick Carrasco and Roman Saiss are now serving with Al Shabab. I believe the league will expand gradually over time, and I think it’s vital to choose coaches who can help their players reach their full potential.
