Real Madrid Dealt a Blow in Race for Kylian Mbappe Against Liverpool

There may be more episodes to come in the Kylian Mbappe transfer controversy in the coming months as PSG attempts to persuade the World Cup champion to extend his contract. Despite Real Madrid’s interest in the French superstar over the last three years, a transfer to Santiago Bernabeu has not occurred.

Mbappe is the kind of player who would be welcomed by any fan base. If he does leave PSG, Real Madrid is widely expected to sign him.

However, they are not alone. According to L’Equipe (via The Sun), Mbappe still has the option of playing for Liverpool in the next season.

For the time being, Mbappe will remain at PSG. However, his future with the club remains uncertain. In the summer of 2024, the Frenchman’s contract will expire, and he will be a free agent.

Liverpool has dealt Real Madrid a major setback in their pursuit of Mbappe.

PSG is still hopeful that they can persuade Mbappe to sign a new contract, at least according to rumors. The French club may even enable him to go voluntarily in the summer of 2024 in exchange for a transfer fee rather than letting him walk away for nothing.

Everyone expects Real Madrid to sign Mbappe if he ever decides to leave PSG. Los Blancos may have competition for the Frenchman’s signature, though, as Liverpool is also said to be interested in signing him.

It is claimed that the English club has always admired Mbappe. In addition, Jurgen Klopp’s squad should not be discounted as a potential rival for the Frenchman’s signing because of the uncertainty surrounding Mohamed Salah’s future at Liverpool.
