Instead, it is anticipated that the center-back will make a return for Blaugrana’s Group H match against Royal Antwerp on September 19 at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
A choice conundrum for Xavi?
It’s undoubtedly fantastic news for Xavi Hernandez and Barcelona that Araujo will return soon after the break for international play.
The manager will undoubtedly face some form of selection conundrum as a result, though.
Before getting hurt, Xavi was playing Jules Kounde and Andreas Christensen at center defense with Araujo filling in at right back.
But now that Joao Cancelo has arrived, the right-back position is already filled, and given how Kounde has been playing, it will be difficult to replace him as well.As a result, after Araujo completes his full recovery, the manager may have to choose between Araujo and Christensen.
