Arsenal make Gabriel Magalhaes decision as Edu looks to sell 6 first-team players before deadline

Arsenal have decided on Gabriel Magalhaes’ future as the club look to sell at least six first-team players before Friday’s transfer deadline, it has been claimed.

Following a window that saw the additions of David Raya, Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice, and Kai Havertz for a combined sum in excess of £200 million, it is looking to be a hectic few days for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Granit Xhaka, Matt Turner, Auston Trusty, and Pablo Mari, among others, have all left the team for sums that might reach just over £40 million. Marquinhos, Alex Runarsson, and Kieran Tierney, meanwhile, have all obtained loan agreements abroad.

And in the next five days, the Gunners will focus their attention on securing further outgoings.

Indeed, according to a Football.London report, Arsenal are set to sanction the exit of six players.

Folarin Balogun will be the first of those departures, with the Hale End graduate’s permanent move to Monaco reportedly set to be confirmed within the next 48 hours.

Rob Holding, 27, has been linked to clubs in Turkey and Spain this transfer season. Arsenal is reportedly open to bids for the player. The present deal for Holding expires in the summer of 2019, although Arsenal have the option to extend it by a further year.

Nuno Tavares’ future is also likely to lie elsewhere because Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen expressed interest in the Portugal under-21 international this summer.

Tavares would allegedly prefer to stay in the Premier League, however, with Aston Villa having shown interest in a loan move. The Gunners’ preference is allegedly to find a permanent solution for the 23-year-old who is not part of Mikel Arteta’s plans.

Albert Sambi Lokonga is said to be another who is free to leave, with Monaco having shown an interest in the Belgian international. Brighton and Burnley have also thought to be keen, but neither have made an official approach.

With only one year left on their contracts, Nicolas Pepe and Cedric are also anticipated to go.

A official offer, according to the publication, has not yet been made for Cedric, although teams in Spain and Portugal have indicated interest. Saudi Arabia, where the transfer market ends two weeks after the Premier League deadline, is also showing interest in Pepe.

Football.London continued, despite rumors of a move to the Saudi Pro League and Real Madrid, Gabriel does not seem set to depart.

The Brazilian has yet to start a Premier League game this season, although it is believed that this is more of a tactical choice than a result of rumors about his future.
