The former world champion boxer who went onto the field, leapt on Erling Haaland, and kissed the striker has been identified as the Manchester City supporter.
Terry Flanagan, a 34-year-old retired British professional fighter and ardent City supporter, held the WBO lightweight championship from 2015 to 2017.
Only two of his 38 fights ended in losses, and he scored 14 KOs along the way.
However, Flanagan probably didn’t relish any of his victories as much as Haaland’s crucial strike. The incident took place on Sunday at Bramall Lane an hour into City’s 2-1 victory.
As City attempted to find a way past the Blades, Haaland had previously missed a penalty. However, the Norwegian striker finally opened his account with a proficient close-range header in response to a cross from Jack Grealish.Flanagan then leaped from the stands onto the field as he sprinted off to celebrate.
Then, in an effort to join the celebrations in City, he jumped atop Haaland’s back.Despite Flanagan appearing to kiss the forward’s neck, the incident didn’t seem to surprise the forward.Bernardo Silva, Flanagan’s teammate, appeared noticeably surprised that Flanagan was able to hold onto Haaland for such a long time.Security, though, arrived quickly and tackled Flanagan before dragging him off the field.
The amazing invasion was rapidly discussed on Twitter by admirers. One person said, “That fan caught Haaland by surprise!”Another person said: “We’re fortunate Haaland is a unit; if it had been Bernardo, he would be paralyzed.”
According to one, “That must have been a memorable moment for him.”An additional commenter said, “That fan bet his crib on Haaland to score.”
United’s Jayden Bogle’s 85th-minute equalizer gave City a tense finish to their contest.Rodri, however, put them back in front a short while later to secure the victory.
