Dominik Szoboszlai is confident Liverpool can play well this season and finish the season higher than Man City in the Premier League.

This summer, Liverpool strengthened their attack with Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig. The Hungarian player was also given the opportunity in the first two matches of the new season with Liverpool and left a little mark.

Recently, when asked about the race in the Premier League this season, Szoboszlai was confident that Liverpool would rank above Man City. The player said: “Liverpool will finish above Man City in the PL. It’s not a joke, I am thinking it and I always believe in that prospect, despite the fact that it will be very difficult.

“There are very good teams in the Premier League but so is Liverpool. We have good players and a great manager. I am the type of person who always wants to win, to be No. 1. No one will ask. How do you feel when you finish second?

“Teams like Man City believe in the possibility of winning and so do Liverpool. They have Erling Haaland, who scored 52 goals last season, I know he can do that because I have seen Haaland’s ability. For sure Haaland will continue to perform like this and I expect the same from myself and my teammates.

“Me and Haaland are good friends. But when I get into the game, I won’t care about that anymore. He won’t mind that either. I’m here to contribute to the team and to help. I believe (my team) will be ahead of Haaland this season.”

Liverpool rookie added: “I am new, Macca is new, Endo is new. But we understand each other really good even after a few training sessions.”

Szoboszlai is one of the former RB Leipzig players to play in the Premier League this season. Besides Haaland, Chelsea’s Nkunku also played for the German team before coming to Stamford Bridge.
