Taylor Swift WON’T do Vegas Super Bowl halftime show

Due to her ongoing Eras world tour, Taylor Swift has declined the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in Las Vegas.

The 33-year-old singer has been touring the United States since March of this year but is ‘in no rush’ to do the renowned musical act, which typically lasts between 12 and 15 minutes. This week, she will perform at Foro Sol in Mexico during a number of events.

Taylor is very much engaged on other projects and doesn’t think that appearing at the Super Bowl halftime show in Sin City would be “a defining moment for her right now.”

According to an insider who has access only to the Shake It Off hitmaker, DailyMail.com Taylor is extremely preoccupied with her current tour and has little time to prepare for a Super Bowl performance. She will do it eventually, but she has no urgency to perform in Vegas or within the next several years.

She is aware that she is at the height of her powers and that each step she takes from this moment forward is crucial. The majority of her time is spent on her current tour, recording her older music, creating new music, and living her life.

The insider continued: ‘The Super Bowl will be a nice thing to do someday but it is not a defining moment for her right now. She knows she has all the time in the world, and she always reminds her team that Madonna was 53 when she finally did the show herself, so timing is everything.

‘Taylor is well aware of how she wants her career to develop and will do things her way and her way only and will not rush into something she doesn’t want to do just to do it and that includes the Super Bowl.’

Meanwhile, a source close to the NFL revealed: ‘Taylor will have her opportunity to be the Super Bowl Halftime Show and has been asked a handful of times but when it comes to next year and the show in Vegas, it will not be her.

‘She wants to be a part of the show at some point and is leaning towards doing it in a few years, especially if the Super Bowl is in Nashville.

‘But when it comes to Vegas, any Taylor fans shouldn’t be excited that she is going to do it, because it isn’t happening,’ they added.

Representatives for Taylor and the NFL did not respond to requests for comment.

Taylor, who recently wrapped up the North American leg of her Eras Tour, spent the weekend in New Jersey where she attended the wedding of Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley.

Jack, a music producer, and Margaret, an actress, tied the knot on Saturday at the picturesque seaside resort town of Beach Haven, New Jersey.

A array of famous faces attended the big day, including Taylor, who has worked with the groom on over 50 songs.

Taylor looked stunning in a baby blue lace dress that featured a corset-style top and a frilled skirt.

The Bad Blood hitmaker wore her hair down straight and completed her look with jeweled heels and a bold red lip as she partied with the likes of Cara Delevingne and Lana Del Rey.

Days before the wedding, she was also spotted out and about in New York City last Thursday when she reunited with her good friend Ed Sheeran.

The duo — who’ve worked on a number of songs together over the years — grabbed dinner at the members-only social club Zero Bond and were flanked by security as they exited the celeb hotspot separately.

Taylor looked effortlessly stylish as she strolled out of the building wearing a rust-toned dress that featured a flowy satin skirt.

Her dirty blonde hair was tied in a braid and she sported black platform loafers that matched her purse.

Ed, 32, cut a casual figure in a white T-shirt and black skinny jeans and hid most of his ginger hair beneath a baseball cap before completing his look with a pair of Jordan 1 Retro High OG Washed Black sneakers.

The Shape of You singer recently revealed why he won’t perform at the Super Bowl halftime show either.

Ed reckons that people wouldn’t want to see him perform at Super Bowl as he doesn’t have the ‘pizzazz’ to pull it off.

Speaking on Andy Cohen’s Deep & Shallow podcast on SiriusXM, he said: ‘I think that would be the only way that I would do it is if I was joining someone else.’

He added that it was more of an ‘an American thing,’ before remarking: ‘I don’t have pizzazz. Like, all of these amazing performers – I’m just not that. I’m not gonna have dancers on stage. I’m not gonna have fireworks and blah blah.

‘I just can’t, that’s not me. I don’t think that anyone wants to see me do the Super Bowl either.’

Ed then went on to joke he could ‘wear sparkles’ to add some extra pizzazz, before confirming: ‘I think I would do it as a guest.’

Big moment: Kansas City Chiefs' Skyy Moore celebrates scoring a touchdown at the 2023 Super Bowl game

Skyy Moore of the Kansas City Chiefs makes a big play after scoring a score during the Super Bowl in 2023.

An artist or group of artists performs a medley of songs as part of the annual Super Bowl Halftime Show, which takes place in between the two halves of the National Football League’s (NFL) largest game of the year.

This year, Rihanna performed at the event, shocking fans by announcing during the electrifying performance that she was expecting her second child.

Lizzo was reportedly withdrawn from contention for the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show last week after becoming the target of horrific sexual harassment and fat-shaming claims made by former dancers.

Three of her former dancers, Crystal Williams, Noelle Rodriguez, and Arianna Davis, filed a lawsuit against the 35-year-old popstar earlier this month, accusing her of creating a “hostile work environment.” The pop star has promoted herself as a body-positive activist.

Lizzo was previously considered one of the front-runners for the 2024 spectacular, but an NFL insider exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com that the organization has instantly removed her from consideration after the outcry over the claims.

In the aftermath of the allegations, which Lizzo adamantly rejects, the source claimed that “talks of Lizzo being a part of the Halftime festivities, or performing the National Anthem, are dead now that she is surrounded by scandal.”
