Barcelona has announced that Pedri has been injured and will miss some time due to treatment.
A short statement was sent by the team through Twitter, reading, “Pedri has a right quadriceps injury.” He is not eligible for selection at this time, and his eventual comeback is contingent on his health.
Sport reports that Pedri was hurt on Thursday during training and will be absent for a while.
Barcelona’s next two La Liga games are against Villarreal and Osasuna, and it now seems like Pedri will miss both of them. After the conclusion of the international break, Barca will return to domestic action on September 17 when they visit Real Betis.
With this latest setback, Xavi will be without two of his key players when they go to Villarreal this coming weekend; Ronald Araujo will be joining Pedri on the sidelines.
Xavi has a lot of alternatives in the middle of the field, but he’ll have to make some changes before facing the Yellow Submarine.
