One of the biggest players traded in the football offseason, has now made one of the largest residential real estate purchases in the Garden State as Aaron Rodgers has reportedly bought a new home in New Jersey as the season is set to begin.
Rodgers, who was traded to the New York Jets following an 18-year stint with the Green Bay Packers, is the new owner of a sprawling 10,000 square foot mansion in Cedar Grove near the Montclair border. The transaction, first reported by the Daily Mail, was confirmed as finalized for $9.5 million.

The home, listed through Stanton Company Realtors in Montclair, sports a decidedly modern design and features eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Situated on just about 2.4 acres, the property is located near the Mills Reserve park and sits on top of the First Watchung Mountain.
.
The sleek design includes walls of windows along the rear of the property, which provide New York City views amid an open floor plan that blends indoor and outdoor living spaces. Other features of the home include a gourmet kitchen with high-end appliances, custom cabinetry, and a large center island with bar seating.
.
The home additionally features a wine cellar, gym, a media room, and a three-car garage. The home is about 11 miles from MetLife Stadium and about a 24-minute drive to Florham Park, where the Jets practice facility is located.
The stately home was initially listed at $11 million earlier this year and went under contract in just 23 days. The $9.5 million purchase price makes it the most expensive home sold in Essex County so far this year.
.
Rodgers will be suiting up for Gang Green this season after signing a two-year, $75 million contract that will take him through the 2024 season. The four-time NFL MVP, who won Super Bowl XLV in 2011, is a 10-time Pro Bowler who has been seen at Devils/Rangers playoff games and other points around the New York area since his trade to the Jets.

Rodgers was spotted in Hoboken earlier this year inside the Wonder Lofts complex during a photoshoot with Zenith Watches, who signed him as a brand ambassador.
