Odell Beckham Holds Firm to NFL Aspirations, Inks $15M Deal with Baltimore Ravens ๐Ÿˆ

๏ปฟWhen he played for the New York Giants eight years ago, Odell Beckham Jr. was among the best young wide receivers in the NFL.

Today, Beckham’s circumstances are very different as a result of numerous injuries and poor performance. Although there were many rumors that he would eventually sign with the Dallas Cowboys, injuries prevented him from playing during the 2017 season, hindered his 2020 season, and kept him off the field for the all of last season. Beckham last appeared on an NFL field in Super Bowl LVI in 2021, when the Los Angeles Rams held his knee.

Beckham is currently attempting to maintain his NFL aspirations after signing a $15 million, one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens. Many people are uncertain though as to whether they will witness the same player who made one of the greatest catches in NFL history or a receiver who is generally overlooked in a run-first approach with quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Beckham acknowledges that it has been a difficult transition back to the NFL after several years of being sidelined due to injury.

The former Giant told reporters on Wednesday, “You slowly progress,” according to Yahoo. “We always make fun of the fact that no matter how much you train in the offseason, when you get out here and run eight consecutive plays, you gasp for breath. This means that you must adopt a different shape.

Beckham will at least leave with a large paycheck because his contract is fully guaranteed. Even yet, he is aware that this may be his final chance to prove that he is still a capable wide receiver in the NFL. The good news is that he’ll be paired with Todd Monken, the Ravens’ offensive coordinator, who played with Beckham on the Cleveland Browns and just led the Georgia Bulldogs to their second consecutive NCAA National Championship.

Jackson, who has yet to work with a receiver of Beckham’s caliber, will have it simpler if Monken can get Beckham the ball.

According to Pro Football Focus, if Beckham even gets back to his 2021 production when he had 44 catches for 537 yards and five touchdowns, it would be the best season by a Ravens receiver since Steve Smith Sr. in 2016.
