Following a “small” injury, Mason Mount will miss Manchester United’s Premier League games against Nottingham Forest and Arsenal, the team said yesterday.
United disclosed that Mount had experienced a “small complaint” during the 2-0 loss at Tottenham on Saturday.
According to United, the England midfielder is anticipated to be “out until the international break next month.”
Mount transferred from Chelsea to Old Trafford over the offseason for £60 million (US$76 million, RM355 million).
Nearing the twilight of his Chelsea career, Mount struggled to regain his best form after 2021’s Champions League victory.
He also put up subpar performances in both of United’s Premier League games this season, which had manager Erik Ten Hag wonder how he would fit into his plans.Mount is not the only United close-season acquisition who has already experienced injury problems this year.Rasmus Hojlund, a Danish striker who was acquired from Serie A’s Atalanta, has not appeared for United because of a back ailment.Ten Hag’s team hosts Forest at Old Trafford on Saturday before playing their final match before the international break at Arsenal the following weekend. — AFP
