The French forward commenced his blaugrana journey with a spectacular performance in the second match of the 2019/20 league season. Facing Real Betis, he showcased his prowess by netting two goals and contributing an assist. The inaugural league goal for Barça that season arrived in the 41st minute, credited to the Frenchman’s contribution.

A historic Messi goal

In the preceding season, the 2018/19 campaign commenced with a remarkable low free-kick goal by Messi against Alavés. This goal not only marked the first for Barça in the league season but also held the distinction of being the team’s 6000th league goal, a feat achieved by the Argentine maestro.
