The most recent Premier League transfer rumors include good and bad news for Manchester United as well as claims that a physical at West Ham was unsuccessful.
Inter Milan’s chief executive stated that he was convinced Benjamin Pavard was more interested in a move to the San Siro than he was in a transition to Salford, which has caused Manchester United’s rather strained hunt for a center defender to take another turn.
Beppe Marotta reportedly stated that Pavard “has expressed his desire to join us,” according to Sky Sports News.
This might be terrible news for United as Pavard is reportedly their top target – at least, as long as they can get rid of Harry Maguire. It appears that the possibility of adding a new defender depends on the former captain’s eventual departure, which seems increasingly unlikely.
The French World Cup champion may have to be dropped from United’s shortlist after all because Inter appear to be moving quickly while United fidget.
West Ham’s transfer woes to continue?
While we’re talking about Harry Maguire, Sport Witness is reporting that Konstantinos Mavropanos’ move from VfB Stuttgart to West Ham United may be cancelled after the Greek international and former Arsenal player allegedly failed a physical.
There has been no news on the medical issue that was discovered, but it’s important to note that our very own Chris Wheatley is reporting that the agreement is still in place and that the player has already completed his media obligations in advance of an announcement. It’s easy to guess who the Hammers are hoping will correctly guess.
Gravenberch departure nears as Bayern prepare to sell
Ryan Gravenberch, who has long been a target of Liverpool, moved one step closer to leaving when Bayern Munich revised their stance, according to Sky Sports, “no longer ruling out the departure” after rumors from yesterday morning that Manchester United had given him a contract offer.
The Dutchman apparently wants to play for the first team, something he battled to obtain during a trying first season in Bavaria, and it now appears as though he might succeed. A trade that appeared to have stagnated earlier in the summer may now be moving forward, according to HITC’s claim that Liverpool have held “positive talks” with the midfielder.
The 3AM Verdict: Gravenberch is a tremendous talent who joined Bayern, which turned out to be the incorrect decision. Would he receive the consistent playing time he needs at Old Trafford or Anfield? The player’s summer may make or break him, but given how much both clubs need midfield reinforcements, it seems logical that both the clubs and the player would be ready to take a gamble.
