Romano responded to a question regarding the current situation at Old Trafford by saying, “The feeling has always been that they had to sell Fred like they did to Fenerbahce, and also to find a solution for Donny van de Beek, before getting into the specific negotiations for Amrabat.

When manager ten Hag was questioned about van de Beek’s future after Spurs’ defeat, the Dutchman all but confirmed his compatriot would probably go.
Ten Hag told the media full-time that it was “clear that they [van de Beek and Brandon Williams] are looking for something else at this time” (via The Manchester Evening News).
The former Ajax player appeared to be on the verge of joining Real Sociedad in Spain, but last week it was reported that the La Liga team might try to back out of a deal.
Given the money they spent on van de Beek three years ago, Sky Sports correspondent Dharmesh Sheth told GIVEMESPORT that United might have trouble trying to move van de Beek.
The dynamic midfielder joined the team in September 2020 for somewhere over £40 million, and the club is now attempting to reclaim as much of that sum as they can.
