Following the conclusion of the club’s internal inquiry, Mason Greenwood and Manchester United have mutually decided that he will no longer work for the organization.

“Manchester United has concluded its internal investigation into the allegations made against Mason Greenwood,” the club announced in a statement posted on their official website.

“After all allegations against Mason were dropped, our procedure started in February 2023.

We tried to gather as much background and information as we could while also considering the wishes, rights, and viewpoints of the claimed victim as well as the club’s standards and principles. Due to this, we have had to act delicately and carefully in order to get information that is not in the public domain, especially from those who have firsthand knowledge of the case.

“Based on the information at our disposal, we have come to the conclusion that the internet content did not present a complete picture and that Mason did not conduct the offenses for which he was first charged. Having said that, Mason has made mistakes that he is accepting responsibility for, as he has said publicly today.

“Everyone involved, including Mason, is aware of the challenges he faces in starting over at Manchester United. Therefore, it has been decided that it would be best for him to do so outside of Old Trafford, and we will now cooperate with Mason to make that happen.

“I want to start by saying I understand that people will judge me based on what they have seen and heard on social media, and I know people will think the worst,” Mason Greenwood said in a statement.

“I did not do the things I was accused of, and in February I was cleared of all accusations. I was raised to understand that violence or abuse in any relationship is terrible. However, I completely acknowledge the mistakes I made in our relationship and accept responsibility for my part in the events that led to the social media post.

“I am focusing on the great burden of being a father and am learning to grasp my responsibilities to set a good example as a professional football player.”Manchester United, my family, and I worked together to come to this choice today. The best course of action for everyone involved is for me to continue my football career elsewhere, away from Old Trafford, where my presence won’t cause the team any trouble. I appreciate the club’s assistance ever since I joined at the age of seven. There will always be a United part of me.

“I owe a great deal of gratitude to my family and all of my loved ones for their support, and now it’s up to me to earn their confidence back. I want to improve as a football player, but more importantly, I want to become a better father and person and use my skills for good.Following the choice, Richard Arnold, the CEO of Manchester United, also issued a statement.

“Dear Fans, I Want to Be Direct and Transparent With Our Fans About The Process And The Reasons For Our Decision,” he stated. “Now that We Have Concluded And Announced The Outcome Of The Club’s Investigation Into Mason Greenwood, We Want To Be.”

“This was an internal disciplinary investigation involving the employer and the employee, which would typically be conducted in secret. I recognize that this was not an average circumstance given the public nature of the claims and Mason’s prominence, but I felt it was necessary that we still follow due process and, to the extent feasible, refrain from media comment until I had reached a final decision.
