Eduardo Camavinga, Real Madrid’s Rising Star, Attends Inauguration of CF2L Soccer Field in La Chapelle-Janson Named After Him

In a piece of news that will no doubt make you feel old, the incredibly talented Eduardo Camavinga has already had a stadium named after him, aged 18.

The Stade Rennais midfielder was present at a ceremony on Saturday afternoon to celebrate the opening of a stadium located in La Chapelle-Janson, near where he grew up in Fougères.

Camavinga, who made 42 appearances in all competitions last season, played his football in the area before joining Rennes’ youth system, aged 11.

The CF2L, an academy that gathers some of the area’s most gifted players for practice and games, reportedly calls the new stadium home.

In reality, Nicolas Martinais, one of Camavinga’s original instructors, also works at the institution, according to GFFN.

On his own Instagram account, the adolescent earlier shared a photo of himself standing next to the ground, as 150 students from the institution reportedly attended the inaugural ceremony.

Camavinga reportedly spent many hours posing for photos and signing signatures with local children. He also played rough with others in attendance.

A move away from Roazhon Park for the 18-year-old midfielder has been heavily rumored in recent months, with Premier League team Arsenal apparently making him their top goal.

According to The Express, Rennes of Ligue 1 is asking for more than £43 million this summer.

How many 18-year-olds can boast of having their own stadium dedicated in their honor? Not a much, I assume.
