Recently, Crystal Palace’s No. 2 goalkeeper Vicente Guaita has publicly expressed his intention to leave Selhurst Park in search of a new destination. Therefore, coach Roy Hodgson was forced to find a replacement to compete for the official position with Sam Johnstone.
According to The Sun, the number one target that coach Roy Hodgson is targeting at the moment is goalkeeper Dean Henderson of Man Utd. It is known that Crystal Palace wants to borrow Henderson with an option to buy permanently in the summer of 2024.
Earlier this August, Nottingham Forest reached an agreement to sign Dean Henderson after a season on loan. However, coach Steve Cooper’s team gave up this deal at the last minute because of concerns about the injury condition of the 26-year-old goalkeeper.
Because he did not want to sit on the bench for Andre Onana, Henderson really wanted to leave Man Utd to go and find a new destination. However, the “Red Devils” just want to sell off the British goalkeeper to get more money to reinvest in another deal.
To prevent the possibility of failure in this deal, Crystal Palace also targeted Alex McCarthy (Southampton) and Daniel Iversen (Leicester City).
