Darwin Nunez reportedly involved in tunnel incident after Liverpool’s 3-1 victory against Bournemouth at Anfield.

In the second Premier League match of this season, the 24-year-old found himself once again excluded from Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup. His appearance against the Cherries didn’t occur until the 86th minute, with Liverpool leading 3-1.

Despite his limited time on the field, the Uruguayan international struggled to leave a significant impact, even as Liverpool fought back from a deficit to secure a triumphant victory in Merseyside.

Eyewitnesses present at the game reported that Nunez, who was acquired from Benfica last year in a deal that could rise to £85 million, swiftly left the pitch in a hurry.

A Liverpool supporter took to Twitter to express, “Nunez headed straight down the tunnel at the final whistle, wearing a discontented expression. The reason is unknown.”

Another fan’s tweet read, “Nunez seems to be quite discontented. He briskly marched down the tunnel. The cause remains a mystery.”

A third tweet chimed in, “Nunez doesn’t appear to be in high spirits, making a beeline for the tunnel.”

This particular supporter then remarked, “Darwin Nunez looked thoroughly displeased as he exited the pitch at the end of the match and swiftly made his way down the tunnel.”

Meanwhile, another spectator watching the game summed it up concisely: “Nunez made a quick exit down the tunnel. He doesn’t seem pleased.”

Since his arrival last summer, Nunez has grappled with maintaining a steady performance level. The forward managed to notch nine goals in the Premier League during his inaugural season in England.

However, his presence on the score sheet has been less frequent in 2023, as he has only managed to find the back of the net four times in top-flight matches. His most recent goal was recorded back in April during the impressive 6-1 victory against Leeds on their home turf.
