🚨 Latest Update: Chelsea Accelerates Move for £50M Bradley Barcola from Lyon Following Crystal Palace’s Olise Transfer 🔥💙

Chelsea reportedly boosted their interest in signing Lyon player Bradley Barcola after Michael Olise declined their offer to sign him.

Olise, a winger for Crystal Palace, had the option of signing a new contract with the Eagles rather than exercising a £35 million release clause in his contract, which would have allowed him to join the Blues.

Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino intends to add at least one more attacking player before the summer transfer market closes.

The west Londoners planned to include Trevoh Chalobah in a deal, but they are also thinking about making a move for Brennan Johnson of Nottingham Forest. This has proven challenging, though, because the defence is unwilling to transfer to the City Ground.

Chelsea may make a cash-only approach, but considering that Johnson is also a target for West Ham and Tottenham and that Brentford recently had a £35 million offer rejected, they may move on to other targets.

According to French news outlets, Chelsea is reportedly contemplating Barcola, a France U21 international, as a replacement.

The 20-year-old has spent his whole professional playing career at Lyon, where he recorded seven goals and ten assists in 2017. He can play on the right side or as a forward.

Unfortunately for Chelsea, there are rumors that the young Frenchman is also being courted by Manchester City and Paris-Saint-Germain.

Barcola is yet to decide on his future club, but he might be persuaded to travel to London as opposed to Manchester or Paris.

Barcola and Malo Gusto previously collaborated at Lyon, and several of Chelsea’s newest hires are from France.
