Ronald Araujo, a defender from Uruguay, has been hurt and could be sidelined for a while, according to Barcelona.
Araujo has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury, which will keep him out of action, according to the club’s announcement on Thursday. This is Barcelona’s first injury of the season, and it has already been one week. Araujo was ruled fit to play the full 90 minutes against Getafe in La Liga last weekend after leaving the Joan Gamper Trophy encounter against Tottenham last Tuesday after only 30 minutes due to a muscle issue.
The Uruguayan is expected to miss Sunday’s home opener against Cadiz as well as the following two away games against Villarreal and Osasuna. As a result, Araujo might not make a comeback until after the September international break.
Along with the manager Xavi and the winger Raphinha, Araujo is now one of the Barça players who will miss the games against Cadiz and Villarreal due to their respective two-match suspensions following red cards last week.
