FORMER Just NINE DAYS after joining Konyaspor, midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin of Manchester United had his contract revoked.
The 33-year-old, who has also played for Southampton and Everton, said on Thursday afternoon that he was leaving for “family reasons” after playing for both clubs.
Due to family obligations, Morgan Schneiderlin has left Konyaspor.
The professional football player Morgan Schneiderlin, whose transfer we recently disclosed, informed Konyaspor management that he wished to depart for familial reasons, according to a statement from the club.
“As a result of the discussions and assessments, our club responded favorably to Morgan Schneiderlin’s request and mutually agreed to end his contract.”
Schneiderlin spent three years with French club Nice before departing in the summer.
He made 59 appearances for the Ligue 1 team over the course of two seasons before spending the second half of the 2022–23 season on loan with the Australian club Western Sydney Wanderers.
Schneiderlin resided in England for 12 years at the height of his career.
In 2008, when the South Coast club was playing in the Championship, he joined Southampton.
Before Schneiderlin assisted them in returning to the Premier League in 2012, they first slipped to League One.
He joined Manchester United in 2015 and appeared in 47 games over an 18-month period.
He captured both the FA Cup and the Europa League over that brief time.
He moved to Everton in January 2017 and spent three and a half years there, making 88 appearances.
Schneiderlin played for France on 15 occasions and was a member of the squads for the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Euros.
He was promoted from the standby list on both occasions as a result of injuries to certain players.
